WITTEDRIFT NATURE TRAILS

The Wittedrift area has a variety of guided trails. The trails take you along the River banks and wetlands.   With the prolific bird life on the flood plains and the interesting geology of the wetlands around the Bitou River, you could easily find yourself walking a 10 km distance.  Dogs and horses are also allowed on these trails.  One of the many highlights is the flourishing Fynbos species along the route.

The starting and ending point is at the Wittedrift high school.  The distances are from 1.5 – 10 km and the duration 2-8 hours.  With a rating from easy to difficult any hiker can enjoy the beauty of the Garden Route.  Don’t forget to pack your hat, sunglasses, good walking shoes, insect repellent, refreshments, water, camera, binoculars and swimming gear.

No permit is required for this walk. An overnight hut can be booked at Wittedrift butchery.

Happy hiking!
