The link between Wildlife properties & Rhino Conservation; Could this be a solution to our problem?

If you could increase the value of your asset base and save the Rhino would you do it?

The current myth is that Rhino conservation is reliant on public’s donations and conservation. Can we challenge that way of thinking? Property owners have an opportunity to save rhinos, without making substancial donations.

So how is this possible?

Across Hoedspruit there are several possible options. Purchase a Game farm in an existing reserve, buy shares in a share-block reserve, purchase a 21 ha farm in a reserve or purchase a 1 ha vacant stand or house on 1 ha full title stand. The value of investment can vary from as little as R300,000 for a 10,000 sqm stand to a property valued at R300 million.

This property investment will grow in capital appreciation as due to increasing human population and demand of wilderness areas; the value growth is expected to outstrip inflation. This exposes great opportunity for many investors within South Africa as well as international investors.

So for those wanting to make a difference in Rhino conservation but maintain increasing property values, there are already existing sustainable options.

This model also means that other species will too be benefactors in the process as conservation areas will be protected as well. In many cases investors will be protecting the “Big 5”, which other than Rhino include Lion, Leopard, Elephant and Buffalo.
