Happy 10th birthday, Century 21 East Rand!

Looking back with pride

The team recently celebrated the milestone with an office party and awards ceremony that recognised top performers in the agency for the 2023 year. Reflecting on the milestone, Nicolaides says it feels like he opened the office yesterday as time has passed so quickly. "I believe this has got a lot to do with the fun we have on a regular basis. I'm fortunate to work with an amazing team of property practitioners or partners as I call them. They are really the reason we have achieved so much together with the clients that support our business."

Making a mark in East Rand 

Nicolaides says as the real estate industry has grown, the East Rand property market has become a competitive one. "To achieve what we have, in a relatively short period of 10 years, is quite humbling. Our brand has become such a community fixture - we are often the go-to real agency in the area."

At the Century 21 Pearl Awards, the agency was named "Franchisee of the Year" and also won awards for the team in the "Rental National Agent" and "Sales National Agent" categories on more than one occasion. Century 21 East Rand has also given back to the community by hosting SPCA food drives and putting together a sit-down dinner for the residents at MES, a local homeless shelter.

The secret behind the success

The result of Century 21 East Rand's efforts includes a long list of satisfied clients. "Over the years, we've helped hundreds reach their real estate goals, which is a truly rewarding part of the job," says Nicolaides. 

The business's longevity can be chalked up to the quality of service clients have come to know and appreciate. "Without a team of like-minded, dedicated property practitioners, we would not be here today," says Nicolaides. "My key administration staff also keep the wheels of the business running and together, I feel we work in sync with each other for the common goal of helping our clients."

Although humble about his own deeds, Nicolaides also believes his role has helped take the business forward. "I love what I do at Century 21 East Rand which makes each day easy. I'm not a selling principal, so this gives me quality time to actively engage day to day with all my practitioners. By understanding the role of each team member and the hardships that they face daily, I am able to help them overcome these obstacles. I believe this has been a winning formula," he shares. 

Eyes on the horizon

Over the years, Century 21 East Rand has perfected its service offering. While the business uses the usual billboards, flyer distribution, and road shows, it is unafraid to innovate. The real estate agency has expanded its reach on leading property portals, given clients access to auction services, offers free in-house bond originator services, automated rental payments with PayProp, and used QR codes for marketing listings. 

"We believe that the brand has a lot of room for growth, and maintaining a footprint in each and every suburb on the East Rand is a continual goal from us," says Nicolaides. "Recruiting like-minded estate agents to join our successful team is an immediate goal. The benefit of all new recruits will be that the brand is already recognisable, thus making their entry into the market a lot easier for them."
