Braamfontein is a popular and centrally located commercial and residential node or precinct situated in the heart of the city of gold - Johannesburg. A brief history of the area

On the 19th of February 1896, tragedy struck the region when a freight train transporting some 56 tonnes of dynamite exploded leaving just under 80 people dead. It's stated that the area came to commercial fruition during the 1980s. However, after this period, the entire central areas of Johannesburg became casualties to the effects of urban decay.
